Car jacking is such a shit crime. Like there are no upsides. VIN will be tagged immediately by the manufacturer so it's spare parts at best. In the US at least you run a high risk of being shot by the occupant or the cops. It's like why bother.

Uh, there's been 34 since april 1st here... 158 since Jan 1. They are actually decriminalizing it because there has been so many, carjacking will now be rolled into Robbery 2. Few years ago they started charging vehicular burglary (mostly stealing shit out of cars) into "Rogue and vagabond" which is a misdemeanor charge instead of a felony.
