I still have not seen Return of the Jedi all the way through. I didn't even see Star Wars until I was 21.
I managed to get through reading Lord of the Rings after seeing the films. I read the book in 7 minute incriments over a summer while living in a hotel and having to go outside to smoke cigarettes.
