I know you guys really hate Stephenson for some reason, but The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O. is pretty damn good so far. About 200 pages in.

It was co-written with someone else, and I think she may have tempered his writing style

made it half way thru before i put it down

idk wasn't feeling it

i'll prob finish it at some point

His style of prose is grating to me. Good stories, but it's like he's always trying to write a detective noir.

That definitely comes through in his "cop" books, like Lock-In. But that's understandable.

I'll have to reread the Old Man's trilogy-that-isn't to see if it fits there. I generally am too wrapped up in the story to notice that, I guess.
