As much as I love the A-10's capabilities it's only being kept alive as a jobs program for various congressional districts. Much like the Army begging Congress to let them stop buying tanks which just sit in storage and will never see use.

Yeah, most of my misgivings about them phasing it out revolve around that thing being its replacement.
