We have about a $20k budget to get some new asset management software here. This needs to include software for a 2,000+ node environment and 2-3 barcode scanners for the actual hardware.

Would prefer something that we can hook into SMS/AD. Suggestions?

We don't manage our assets, we are a government institution. But I found that we have this huge warehouse of old computers that is like a junkyard of usable parts that are free for the taking (for further business use of course). :D

Erage we should get drunk and play junkyard wars in there.

Ahh, the lovely sound of crackling technology as it flies from mound to mound.

I have the same setup in my basement.

we use Cumulus... but then again, all the assets that we have are digital.

CA supposedly makes some slick new asset management product. I don't know much about it other than that however.

I don't use anything here because we don't have enough equipment that it's been an issue.

They probably do. Hmmm... We just signed a $20mil dollar deal with them that allows some extra unassigned software. I fucking hate CA though. Those people are money extorsionists.

Bar code asset tags on everything. Scanner guns. Module tie into BANNER.

Cumulus is pretty popular.
Is BANNER an application?

Anyone got any ideas on pricing for Cumulus?

edit: It looks like Cumulus is JUST for digital assets. :(
