NYC: whatever you do, hit up Katz's for a pastrami sandwich. It's life changing.

I’ve only experienced Katz’s via watching a video and IT changed my life so I can imagine an actual sandwich would probably send me off the deep end.

What would you order off this menu?

Wine list is a whole 'nother .PDF but figure $12-$20 per glass for regular stuff.

I'm thinking the bar snacks and appetizers can all go to hell.

Maine Halibut entree seems good.

Wild Mushrooms for a side.

Bullfighter or Santa Ana for a cocktail.
I'll roll it this way.
Duck Wings bar snack while waiting for my dinner companion to show up.
Artisan cheese for us to share - fine, I'll save her a Duck Wing.
Herbed Dumplings with a side of Brussels Sprouts
I'll have the Upper West Side to drink.

Saw that looking up delis.
Marc Katz used to have a location here for years. I've delivered stuff in the back end of that place before.
As a result did not eat there.

I didn't get in touch with my New England roots until I was 13. Grew up in L.A. until then. Lazy mom fed us Kraft fake cheese and Aunt Jemima fake syrup.
Sometime around age 8 mom got paid better and the Cracker Barrell cheese came around.
Then at almost 13 we moved back to Boston and I learned the joy of maple.
And Rasberry Lime Rickeys.

But that's a story for another day.
It includes country clubs and angel dust...
