My colleague in the cube across constantly tries to tell me the latest gossip by leaning over and mouthing words with slight mumbles under them. I've recently started admitting I have absolutely no idea what she's saying so keep telling her to e-mail me instead. Now I think about it the only words I can lip read are 'FUCK OFF' when someone shouts them.

Any have the same ineptitude?

I frequently cant hear people. Repeat back similar sounding but obscene sentences in a questioning tone.

When I act as though I didnt hear something someone said, its not because Im deaf, its because I dont give a fuck what they said in the first place.

I think you would make a great deaf person. I mean, it's not like you listen to what anyone says anyway.

My mom went deaf but couldn't read lips or speak sign language. It sucked. We had to write to her. Usually we used an erasable board but I still have notebooks full of one sided conversation we had when we were out somewhere. Had she not died she would have gotten a cochliar implant.
