For the last week Ive had a killer flu that has made me absolutely miserable. On Wednesday the pain in my joints from aches and swelling was so so severe that I couldn't do anything besides sit in a recliner and groan. I didn't want to drink anything because swallowing was agony (it still is today, as a matter of fact, but I continue to choke down water). The flu wouldn't be so terrible if not for the fact that I'm not sleeping. For going on a month now I've been waking up around 2am almost every night and not being able to go back to sleep. The drain on my body, particularly this week, has been horrible. I'm not sleeping long enough for my body to put itself back together, so I have more aches in more places from muscles that were never able to put themselves right.
Due to my own personal psychosis I despise and distrust pretty much anything doctor/hospital related, and will only go as a last resort, but today I gave in and called our family practitioner and asked for help. The thought of going through another night on 3 or 4 hours of sleep, if that, is almost enough to break me.
