Advice How to start a lawnmower?

I'm gonna do a Web search soon also.
Bought a front wheel drive Troy Built with a Honda Motor.
Put oil in.
Put gas in the tank.
Read quick start, operations manual, and owners manuals.
Checked the sparkplug boot and made sure it was pushed in firmly.
Pulled the blade control lever to the on position, yanked the flywheel starter at many different speeds.
Made sure the fuel feed was in the on position.
I gotta go to a funeral in an hour and can't even start my new mower.
*this is my first gas mower ever.

is it primed? sometimes that first start is the hardest. give her a few pulls, rest & repeat.

OK, it's new, so never mind.

Was going to say see that the old air filter you've probably never maintained isn't disintegrated and has pieces of sponge sucked down into the carburetor.

You need 2 things, spark and fuel.

Haul it over a bunch of times, hold your hand over the exhaust. If your hand smells like gas, that part works.

If that's good, unscrew the spark plug, hold the threaded part of the plug against a metal part of the engine, and haul it over. You should see the spark plug spark.

Try that shit and report back.

So I put some muscle into it, and suddenly it was acting and sounding like an Evenrude outboard.
Fucker mowed my back hill in half the time with the powered front wheel drive.
