well at least you've got a leg-up if/when you go to college. i used to do this all the time, simply going on what we discussed in class and not actually reading the text. i specifically remember doing this with gulliver's travels in civ (had to read the entire swift piece and i didn't because my grandmother died two weeks before), and on the exam we had to do 3 of 4 questions, 2 of which were on gulliver. still got an A
