What kind of change do you think this will mean for the future of processors?
The same thing it usually means when they get a die shrink : cooler (temperature) processors and higher yield per wafer, which translates into lower prices.

Even though the move to 45nm process was on Intel's roadmap for years now, it was a good article. Interesting to hear them get a little more into the how's of it all.
