strike that, you absolutely cannot.

How is UTAH of all places more expensive than the DC metro area
I wonder what the primary economic activity of the area is because I know there's the ski resorts and I guess there's tons of banks. My bank is based out of salt lake.

Tons of start ups here. Lots of tech. Provo/Orem area is a super hot spot for entrepreneurs.

Here is St. George it’s mostly tourism and old people but luckily my husband found a company where we might be able to actually afford one of these half million dollar starter homes. Doesn’t mean I want to buy one but if I’m stuck here forever I won’t have a choice.

@Domon is in a different price bracket/product than I am but it's just a different In the DC area hes probably thinking of like suburban stuff but even even a town home convenient to more urban places around here costs like half a million.

When I lived in Annapolis you Couldn't get a nice house near downtown with a yard in a quiet neighborhood without dropping a 1-2 mil on it.

yeah, i set the bar when i did a search in her area at anything with 1+ acres. And there just wasnt anything.... so i zoomed out, and zoomed out and i was in a different state before anything showed up that was less than 800k

Around here you can go south of 50 or north of 70 and get some space for reasonable-ish prices
