Ok so Fatburger and I are going to Vegas for 3 days, 4 nights the first of April (Easter weekend) and we are trying to figure out what we should do, and what we should skip.

As of right now we don't have a whole lot planned, except at least 1 show- we are trying to decide between Blue Man group (Poncho area) or Cirque du Soleil "LOVE". Or perhaps we should just do both?????

I've got a 2 hour spa treatment on Friday afternoon while Mr. Burger wins us lots at the Poker tables.

But that's pretty much it. So UF please help us plan our trip. Should we do the Stratosphere tower (is it worth it?) A gondola ride? Some of the roller coasters???

i can't tell you much, but i do know that i've enjoyed each cirque show i've ever seen, so it'd be no contest for me.

i'd LOVE to see a drag show in vegas. i'd bet they are phenomonal.

we only did clubs and bars and a few major casinos when we were there. we saw the dam, which was amazing, but you could go down for the weekend and do that some other time if you are only trying to do wilder things now.

check out the casinos' sites and see if they are having any events going on. we saw some parade type thing at one of 'em that was fun.

The drag shows are great, we went with wr3kt and djfacemachine to one, Lucky Changs, it's in a strip mall just north of the Wynn, it was halarious. I think that was one of the best parts of our trip.

Also the wax museum at Madame Tuseauds (sp) at the Venetian, lots of fun.

I've been to the Hoover dam and it was meh... long drive, long tour, really boring. The stratosphere also wasn't all that... it's kind of run down and far away from everything else, and you wouldn't want to walk there because you have to walk through a bad neighborhood (not to mention it's a long ass walk)

I think the most fun things are to walk around and see the attraction at each hotel, but that can take a couple of days in and of itself. I'd see LOVE before I'd see Blue Man Group... I'd also pick one hotel and splurge on a really good meal at one of their restaurants.

Yeah we are planning on going out and splurging on a meal the night we see our show. Any recommendations on a good place to eat?

What about shopping? It looks like vegas has a ton of outlet malls...

We spent a day shopping and I think the shops at Caesars were the best. ;)

How much did you plan before going? Like should I just plan a bit and leave the time open to do whatever? As in plan as we go???

i'd leave some time open to encorporate something you might find when you get there or to simply go see some casinos...not to gamble, necessarily, but just to have fun seeing.
you can always ask people/hotels/casinos what's going on when you get there, or search around on the web for events going on the dates you're there. you might find that something's in town or whatever.
i'm sure you'll have fun no matter what. :D

If you like mexican food there is a place in the basement of the MGM Grand that is really good (not expensive either).

For your splurge dinner, go to Paris, they have some great restaurants.

Go see "Ka" by CdS at the MGM. The wife and I have seen all of the Cirque shows in vegas (cept Love) and "Ka" is by far the best.

Buy you ticket as close to the front as possible.

And another trick is to go to the ticket office right before your show with the best ticket you could get, then see if they will trade it in for a closer one. They hold some of the best seats for high rollers and such and release them just before the show. Be nice and they might let you trade your seat in for a better one.
