IMAP you control backing up the e-mail. Pop the user loses the important e-mail and they blame you for their stupidity.

Pop is pulled down to the desktop IMAP will stay on the server. Pop is a little less of a security risk though.

We have a Cisco PIX 506e that serves as our firewall and VPN device. We have remote users VPN in and one (soon to be two) site to site connections via other PIX 506e devices.
