im going to start the meds after xmas cuz apparently the initial side effects can be kinda brutal and I have way too much shit to do to be out of commission for a few days
"Abnormal excitement".

Be careful with that stuff and make sure to talk to your doctor about its effect on you.
Everyone responds to it differently but I know a couple ladies that got prescribed some stuff to mitigate mood swings but it mostly just killed the good feeling parts (manic highs) but only raised the floor of the low end of the swings (depression type stuff) barely a little bit.
Not saying that's you, just saying stay in tune with yourself and tell the doc bluntly and plainly how it's working for you personally.
They had to go through some different meds and doses to find the one that was right for them but once they did they been doing real good ever since.

East bumfuck.
American Red Cross is currently facing a major blood shortage, and while I have some major issues with them as an org for a number of reasons, the unfortunate truth is that most hospitals get their blood products through ARC.

I know the hospital I work with has been forced to pause all major elective surgeries for 30 days because of this shortage (YSK: "elective surgery" does not mean "unnecessary surgery," it's a surgery that can be scheduled in advance, as opposed to emergency surgery).

I'm putting my monkey where my mouth is and donating on Monday, and if you meet eligibility requirements I urge you to do the same. You can download the ARC Blood Donor app to help coordinate finding a location near you with appointments.

for Red Cross locations, appointments are strongly encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome, you just risk having to wait or bring turned away if they're too busy at that particular moment with scheduled donors.

other options in WI include Blood Center of Wisconsin and ImpactLife locations (the latter serve WI and also IL, MO, and IA).

donations to locations that pay you for your donation do NOT go to hospitals.
I'm wondering about the cancelations of elective surgeries. I'm supposed to get my nasal cavity rotorootered sometime in March (nasal polyps getting removed, deviated septum repaired). With Covid cases skyrocketing at the hospital, I wonder if that will get paused. The ENT doctor was all gunhoe to do the surgery asap, but her assistant was like "yeah no, you are booked till March".

Maybe they'll do it at one of those small, private hospitals that exist just for elective surgery. Basically, a rented room for the doctor to go Dexter on you.
|My wife had probably the same procedure - hope it makes things better for you. Her snoring went from 10 to 8 on the Richter scale, dishes quit falling from cupboards.

I don't snore as far as I know but can't really breathe well through my nose, and don't smell as good as I used to.

But yeah Maine has some of the highest Covid rates in the US (per Capita) right now. So dumb how we went from highest vaccinated population to highest Covid rates.

taking this for seizures and now fibromyalgia
im on a low dosage so apparently it should be ok BUT i always have crazy reactions to medications so we shall see

i will most definitely keep my eye on these side effects cuz i’d rather live with the seizures and body pain than be a crazy moody machete wielding person
