Let me preface this with, you guys clearly have a better heath care plan than us. However, lots of people have great plans through their work, so I don't think that answers the question.
Hospital care, doctor care, bloodwork, X-rays and stuff like that are free here. Our plans through work (or private) cover other stuff like prescriptions, eyeglasses, dental, etc that aren’t free.

Hmm stuff like that seems to be left out when peeps from up north brag about how much better their health care is in Canada.

our health care is wonderful (not perfect ) and even at its worst it’s still better than yours. Murrrrca

we don’t claim to have free medication lol
that’s silly. how would the pharmaceuticals make
money you dum-dum

ppl here get insurance to cover medications, upgrades in hospitals (private, lux rooms) and for the random procedure that may not me covered (like circumcisions) also dental + eyes stuffz .
we don’t get insurance to simply see a doctor or be seen in emergency or cuz that’s all covered

my wife got health insurance for her employees, they split the fees and its about $50 a month Canadian each - that usually covers 80% of everything

I have a better health plan through my work, and it costs me nothing. Yesterday I picked up a prescription for my son that costs $220, and I paid $14 put of pocket.
what about people who dont have employers. Retirees, the disabled, the unemployed, minors, people who work for canada-wal-mart-who-make-sure-their-employees-get-nothing

I have what i would call a platinum medical plan. I have no copay that i must hit before it starts paying, and i dont pay a percentage of any procedure, just a flat copay. I believe the highest copay is 250 bucks and thats for an ER visit.

it costs 480 bucks a month out of my pocket for it, and does not include dental or vision. My employer kicks in another 1280 a month.

Its not a super expensive plan either from the choices i have, even if i went to a low end plan that had like an 8000 dollar deductible and 30-40% coinsurance for any procedure itd still be like 300 a month

I get free insurance through work. However if my employer didn't offer health insurance and I had to pay out of pocket Obumercare would cost me about $600 a month with a $10,000 deductible. Thanks "Affordable" Care Act!

I don't hate him. He was a classy guy. Unlike the embarrassment we have now. But his Healthcare legislation he says he still claims he's proud of is a joke.
you know that got murdered by a republican congress.... you have to. Its a shadow of what it should have been, but some good still came out of it. The biggest good being the pre-existing conditions clause. The healthcare marketplaces are the poorest implemented aspect of it
