Well a facsimile is difined as an exact copy which is not what a vegan burger is. In my experience the best ones aren't trying to taste like meat and if you go in expecting one to taste like meat you're going to be disappointed before you even take the first bite. Thats like drinking coke when you thought it was milk.
I had a vegan patty that was pretty good, but it makes a burger pointless. The only reason I would eat a burger is to have a nice meat meal. If I wasn't going to eat meat, I would eat plenty of other things before wanting a meatless burger.

May be you guys haven't caught up. Lots of people are vegan here and all the big chains have their own brands of stuff. The burgers we had yesterday were totally beef like and just a cheap vegan frozen burger from a local corner store. They're fucking ace.

I promise that I'm not a mouth breathing, MUST EAT BEEF guy. And because of that, I'm open to trying anything. None of the ones I've tried would fool me into thinking I was eating a hamburger. I think people that don't eat beef just kinda forget what it *actually* tastes like.

There are FANTASTIC vegan dishes, and I'll eat most of them. Cheap ripoffs of hamburgers tho? No thanks.

I usually get mine from the grocery store and they are close in texture but not taste. I can tell you that Beyond and Impossible are too close for me because I don't crave meat. I'd rather have a peanut butter sandwich than either of those. Pretty much only buy those when I'm out with friends and it's the only vegan option.

I dunno. There were some frozen vegan patties for sale last year and we made McDonald's mcmuffin style breakfasts and honestly it was better than the dead animal version. I love me so cruelty free meals.

We had kimchi tofu pancakes for breakfast. Lush!

I could never be vegan. Everything you eat is a migraine trigger. Soy, fermented crap. I'd just die.

You don't have to eat that stuff to be vegan. For Dory it doesn't matter because she's already preserved her insides with gin.

Sure, but I've never been able to figure out a vegan diet that does not include common migraine triggers. Beans & legumes, nuts, soy, fermented foods, bananas, onions, avocados, nutritional yeast, fruit that is even a little overripe, citrus, sprouted grains all bad for migraine. I'm left with like spelt and hempseed and rice and lettuce. Not exactly an inspiring diet.

That sucks. What food doesnt cure migraines? A friend of mines MS has cured up since she went vegan, shes expected to live a normal lifespan without symptoms if she keeps it up, its highly recommended by a lot of MS specialists, its quite amazing really how it could make that difference.
