Yes they should eat the charge.

That said, pill cutters like this are about $5. Could give her one, or do it for her to see she's dosed correctly. Or slip the pharmacist a 10.

it's possible that the pharmacy won't or can't dispense the higher dose without it having been cut by them first. which, again, it's their own fault for not stocking the med in an appropriate dosage, but if that's the case the pill cutter at home will only be worth it if the provider changes the Rx.

plus, some pills you can't/shouldn't cut, and while this specific one obviously isn't one of them, you'd have to trust that she isn't the type to fiddle with her meds on her own & end up halving a CR/XR tablet or something, and even ones that can be cut may be cut unevenly enough to fuck with her, depending on a number of factors.

and to be clear, I'm not saying nobody should ever buy one of those and split their own pills, or that she specifically shouldn't, just sharing some reasons why that might not be an option and some things to be aware of wrt splitting other pills

Yeah, it's totally illegal for a pharmacy to dispense medication other than what's prescribed, including dosage.

I wanna say the exception is something like, if they write the Rx for a brand name, they can dispense generic unless it specifically says daw/dispense as written, but I'm remembering that mostly based on something I went through like 15+ years ago when I was a teenager, so it may be wrong/I may be misremembering. either way, it would still have to be the direct dosage

Lot of insurance policies are written that way too. Cheaper generic unless the doc writes in specifically saying "must be brand _______" or whatever.

Wife has one script she has to do that for as it really affects her differently. For other stuff generic is fine.

I'll find out what the real deal is after work.
All this is based on what my MIL said they said. God bless her, she's a sweetheart but she can mess up a story and details like no one I've ever met before. The cutting story sounded so stupid to me that I figured it just had to be true.

Meth in the ‘80s, one small ass line could keep you going for at minimum 16 hours. The stuff these days isn’t likely crap.
Just like anything, you can always find premium drugs if you're willing to pay for them. That said, I've only done meth a couple of times and it really wasn't worth it at all. And it was not fun to snort AT ALL.

We could sell these to guys on cialis so they can cut up those pills into four 9hr stiffies instead of one 36er.

Who the hell would want to have sex for 36 hours...or even 9?

Could sell them the crusher instead and dose by the minute.

I’ve seen good meth. I’ve seen bad meth. I have never in my life asked a dealer of meth if they had an in for some premium, top-shelf meth.

I did meth occasionally in the ‘80s. Most of it looked like glass shards. I did meth occasionally in the ‘90s. Some of it was tan and almost wet. I never did meth in the 00s, but the rate of decline I saw in the previous years tells me there was no Walter White out there cranking out “premium” crank.

Yep, it all burned.

Well. No charge for the pill cutting. Dr gave the green light on the pill cutting. Everyone seems happy as kittens but I still think we should move onto another pharmacy.
No one was snotty by the way.

Good news! Thanks for the update.

I had an issue with the pharmacy I frequent last month when it came time to (re)fill my ongoing Rx. The gal on the phone spoke very little English, she doesn’t even try. And to top it off, she got an Invisalign thing and now consonants are non-existent.

I called on day 29 of a 30 day Rx. She (tried to)says I have to wait two more days. I’m supposed to be completely out before they’ll fill it? No. She’s an idiot. I correct her and she says “Pea ho. Ah taa too phamissss”, puts me on hold and comes back a minute later “you caa eh uuh ooaay” (you can pickup today)

Back then it depended more on the chef. And source chemicals and cooking methods.

That 90's shit was the result of changing laws and people finding new ways around them. Different products and methods for extracting chemicals and different recipes that didn't need as much equipment or space or precision and wasn't so stinky. Could cook it anywhere.

People still do that now but most of it comes across the border from the cartels. With no law to worry about they get raw chemicals from China by the shipping container full and cook industrial size quantities of potent stuff again.

I used to work with this guy who cooked and loved to brag about it. Idiot used to come back from lunch sometimes grinning ear to ear as in his car was what seemed like hundreds of boxes of cold medicine and matchbooks. Don't know what ever happened to that guy. I assume prison or dead.

Many dealers these days have options for people.

meh, keep an eye on them and keep playing the sympathy card. If you change pharmacies you'll have to start from scratch. YMMV :)
