While it may take simply amazing pictures, how the hell would you work on them? 78Megs per picture? You'd need a hellva machine to process that bastard.
theacoustician said:OMG, dSLR is so yesterday, get a digital medium format http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/11/hasselblad-h2d-39-megapixel-medium-format-digicam/
SpangeMonkee said:at work, we have have a digital CCD thing that attaches on the back of a medium format camera just like the film canister. it's kinda cool.
Sarcasmo said:It's called a digital back. Snag it and mail it to me please. Quicksmart, old boy.
SpangeMonkee said:how many do you want?
Coqui said:And you take much better pics on manual settings
Fat Burger said:Then you admit a P&S is limited...
The Oly C-5050 I bought for my wife a couple years back can be fully manual as well, not a DSLR either but a nice larger sturdy metal body to boot.Coqui said:Yes Point and shoot is limited. But a Canon G3 isn't. It's not an SLR and you can still manipulate the settings.
I'm saying don't spend the money on an SLR if you don't need it. Can easily save $1500 just by not using an SLR and still acheive quality pics.

They call em pro-sumer cameras.SpangeMonkee said:yeah, the Canon G series is a great series of "middle of the road" cameras. Halfway between SLR and P&S. I hate that I broke our G2.

Coqui said:Wow. I wonder if that will bite them in the ass. Sure they make the best lenses but Canon's Digital Processor is far superior. (Consumer brands not professional cameras)
I.C.Water said:far superior is a bit much dont ya think? and if nikon users are like my friend they stay with nikon cause of familiarity with the interface etc..
