I came up with the best idea last night. Since the holidays are so crazy, our group of friends is going to get together for Friendsgiving around the time of Canadian Thanksgiving next year. It's further away from the holidays and I'll get to try out new recipes! And since Canadians are so friendly, the whole thing makes sense!

When I was a kid (and we weren’t even poor) we “celebrated” Christmas during the week after Christmas a couple of years, so we could save money on presents.

It was after the oldest bunch had to buy their own gifts to give, so it made sense.
