I remember reading a food blog where a couple engineers brined a butterball turkey, but first they pulled a vacuum on it to get what was in there out first. Liquid margarine pretty much started oozing out of it everywhere.

Would frozen store bought pie crust work?

Not really.

Just look up a youtube video on how to make pie crust from scratch. Add some salt, pepper and summer savory to the flour before you cut in the lard/butter/whatever.
