Celsius is a scale based on water....that would be great if we lived underwater.

Fahrenheit gives you nearly double the precision without even having to jump into decimals.

It's more precise....fact.


Fahrenheit is based on 0 being the temperature of a brine solution and 100 being (incorrectly) the average human body temperature.

Please explain how that is a better reference point.
 
In dealing with day-to-day life here where communication and an ability to relate is key, Fahrenheit makes more sense for precision and as a way of communicating air temperature in a way that relates to how humans perceive temperatures.
Not sure you'd be able to tell the difference between 42 and 46°F.
 
Oh no! Keep away from the lakes, they will be boiling at 100°!!!!!
They'd have to have water for that to happen. Here is the river nearest me:
