I'm all for gun rights, but this guy took it too far. He should know better than to have a gun around the president. Bad form.

It's legal, and should be of course.

Doesn't change the fact that he's a dumbass for doing it.

Is it right that the sentiment is the way it is? No, but unless this guy has the funds (And a good strategy) for an extended battle in the courts, then his "statement" was a waste of time and cost him more than he'll get back.
 
I can't watch the vid at work and didn't hear about this. Was he arrested? He didn't do anything illegal.
 
why shouldnt he be able to take his gun to a meeting?

it's perfectly within the law... and one more example of our freedoms that are being stripped.

because the people that carry guns weren't standing outside protesting, they were inside cheering. you can't take a gun inside, so they left them at home. [/gun-toting republican stereotype]
