If it detracts one person, it has served it's purpose. Just because it doesn't work on you, doesn't mean it wouldn't work on others. And why the hell are you tailgating in the first place?

If a company is allowed to have a metal detector in the entrance, why are they not allowed to have a "gun detector" in the entrance to their parking lot?

Yes because someone is really going to jump out of their cab while driving, into the bed, and start firing hundreds of rounds at me, killing me, simply for tailgating..
