Edo Berger got an alert early last Thursday morning when a satellite detected a 10-second blast of energy known as a gamma ray burst coming from outer space. Telescopes around the world swiveled to focus on the explosion, soon picking up infrared radiation, which travels more slowly than gamma rays. Berger waited for the visible light which he expected to come next. It never arrived.

"We were kind of blown away. We immediately knew what that meant," Berger said.

What it meant was that he was looking at the oldest thing ever spotted -- a post-repast expulsion of energy from the massive gullet of the Judeo-Christian deity.

This is some cool shit right here.

Kek, the universe could end and it would still take a couple thousand years for us to figure it out.

Actually if it did end and the light or w/e from it hadnt reached us yet would that mean that in our particular place in the universe it hadnt ended yet? Since we are always experiencing things that happen at such a distance at such a time our reality is based around local observance. Just because it had already happened doesn't mean it's affecting our local reality yet.

Simultaneity go.
