Mixed bag there. You know my feelings about using analog displays for HD, but I think it can work for what you want. I'm telling you, when you're playing games at 10', it'll look fine. When you're watching movies at 20-25' as you said, its going to seem small.
Weight : 150 lbs ... what the f*ck are you going to put this beast on? That would be the biggest concern and who the hell is going to carry it from the store to its final resting place?
Last step would be to make a DVD of some of your favorite movies, etc. Maybe record yourself playing video games (direct line, not a cam pointed at your TV). Get scenes with vibrant color, some with fast movement, and some with very dark scenes and mixed shadows. Try to get them to hook up a high def receiver (ATSC or satellite)
directly to the set (not split a million ways) and watch some live transmissions. If you like what you see, you're done. Something like this is also helpful :
