In my office our workload has been increasing exponentially over the past year to the point where we now don't have time to do our jobs properly no matter how much we chaes our tails. I figure we need to get more organised through the use of a calendar on Outlook or maybe another program in a PA-esque style.

Has anyone done this, have any experience in organising things like this, do reminders work etc?

Cheers!

Using outlook to organize your life winds up wasting more time than it gains. Best you can hope for is to develop some kind of routine designed for a bit of flexibility, and the ability to shirk responsibility and pass it off onto others.

I have a routine but we literally have so much we forget at least one thing a day that we need to have done. And there's only me and one other person doing my job, it's hard to shirk responsibility sometimes, :fly:

What about keeping a written manual diary? Too old fashioned?
I always had issues with that because things are rescheduled so often.

I keep everything on my iPhone via Google Calendar, Remember the Milk and Evernote. Everything is backed up to a server so it won't get lost.

I just use outlook for meeting reminders. Everything else I just keep in my head, which is probably why theres no room in there for me to remember to put the trash out or put my pants on before I leave for work.

Google calendar is good NME. You can have a shared calendar that you and coworkers can see at home and work. My work has an in house calendar system that ties to outlook and a web accessible calendar.

i have a moleskin journal and diary that is always in my satchel, i prefer the physical act of writing it and checking afterward as this registers as 'something important to do' on a very basic level. so much so that i had to write it down.

What do you do?

I used Outlook in basic training (because it was the most easily accessible), I use Google Calendar for my personal life since I have an Android and it ties into my phone.
