Get in early, or leave later?

Just out of curiosity, which does everyone prefer. To get up and in to the office early so you can leave at a more normal time, or to take your time and leave a little later than the norm?

That is how it was for me for a while there. Unless people can provide me with a good reason, though, I'm basically sticking to the 8 hour day thing.

i'd much rather go in early than stay late. i've always been a morning person and i feel like i have more of the day to myself when i get out at 4:30 rather than 6.

Now I'm only 7 miles from the office so I do the 9-5 thing

In NH I would get up at 4:45, leave the house at 5:30-5:45, stop for coffee around 6:15, get to the office at 7:30, work until 5:30-6:00, eat dinner / get cocked around 8:00, go home and pass out at 9:30.
