WTF For all you runners...

Here's something I've learned about the footfall counting thing.

You will subconsciously tend to land harder on the foot on your "one", which will always be the same if you have an even numbered count going in your head. I will do some periodic cadence counts in my head, but it's always to 5 or 9.

That's why you do it in a 3/4 beat, so that the one count alternates legs. Or something like that... I've used a metronome before. It doesnt really bother me because most of the time when I'm running, I'm not really there anyway.

3/4 is also the easiest way to get to a 180 BPM cadence. I can't turn my legs over that fast without aggravating my ITB, but that's the ideal
