Ontopic FOOD AND RECIPIES

Lots of recipes call for "fresh coriander" or "coriander stem" or whatever. Thai and Vietnamese recipes pretty much always call it coriander, and call the seed "coriander seed".

Usually it's pretty fucking obvious in the recipe what they're calling for, though. So if you end up making guacamole with avocados, lime juice and coriander powder then that's your own damn fault.

While not as pretty, ATK has a super fucking easy cheesecake that is DELICIIOUS. They call it La Viña–Style Cheesecake.

Mrs. Chikken bought me a wok for my birthday so I can stop ruining her pans.

I make a lot of improper fried rice with leftover meats.

No vegetables because they’re nasty.

Add cup of pre-cooked rice to avocado oil, then meat, some sweet chili sauce.

Drop a couple of eggs in the wok, whisk in place, dump a ton of cayenne powder in.

Add garlic paste and ginger paste, stir maniacally.

Let fry a couple minutes then sprinkle with soy sauce.

Wait until the soy sauce finishes boiling off, then serve.

I'm getting a carbon steel wok directly from China. One of the vendors I buy equipment from sends me a gift with every order. This time we're all getting awesome woks and toolkits. I'll post pics in like 6 weeks once it's here

That is like... I guess it's fried rice... in the sense that it's rice... and fried.

Grats on the wok though.
