Circumstantial evidence does not a murder make.

Nor do unrepeatable test results and conjecture.

It shows that someone with access to the home was involved (same duct tape, plastic trash bags found on body and in Anthony home). Also, present was her Winnie the Pooh blanket, chloroform on the girl's body/clothes and chloroform in the trunk of that car.

And the defense had equally compelling testimony and evidence that put reasonable doubt against all of that.

Prosecutors love to make juries believe that the burden of proof rests on the defense. Also, closing statements make or break cases. It's tough to remember 33 days of testimony when you're in the box, even with piles of evidence waiting for you to look at in deliberations. Apparently the defense put on a hell of a closing argument because they were only back there for 10 hours. I've been in week-long trials where the jury was out for 3 or 4 days at 8 hours per.

And they couldn't possibly be framed could they?

The defense was able to make the jurors have enough doubt that they wouldn't give a guilty verdict. The mom's testimony helped and Casey not taking the stand so the prosecutor could tear her story apart. Hell her own dad believed with a doubt that she was guilty.

If it was a third party most likely the body would have been discovered farther from the house and they would have at least brought some of their own supplies. Plus the kid shouldn't have been there alone.
