You shouldn't use the public safety net when you have your own.
Ironic, fly and I had a talk about this because he wants me to go on unemployment, but I feel dirty doing it.
I seriously SERIOUSLY worry about some of you... Really I do..

It IS called insurance. SUI or other wise known as State Unemployment Insurance which is a tax that is based on the first $7k earned (amount for Florida.)

I felt the same when my father tried to make me do it. I went to the office and tried to spark a deal with the guy in charge of auditing my records to get welfare. I told him that I just wanted a job, so he could take the money and help me find a job.

It's still a form of welfare. Anyone trying to correct me on that needs their head checked.

All things equal, I think people would find jobs faster if unemployment didn't exist. However, it does, so I fully support taking advantage of it. Its a system that April and I pay into, so why not?

btw, I feel the same way about Social Security. Its bullshit, and makes too many people rely on the government. However, you're crazy if you think I'd turn down the money when its available.

A shockingly large number of high earners live paycheck to paycheck, regardless of how many homes they own.

while that may be true, they are not in danger of starving or living on the street because of those assets

employers pay into unemployment. The way it used to work is if you are unemployed you could withdraw so much based directly on your employment history... Was a good system.

Employers had a max they had to pay in to it also... So if you retained all your employees for five or ten years or whatever you didn't have to pay in anymore until an employee left and started withdrawing from those benefits so it was directly tied to previous employers and employment history.

Now they've extended benefits multiple times and its completely fucked the system cause it cut those previous ties, basically eliminated the cap, giving employers no benefit to retain employees. Gj congress.

Welfare is pure handouts.

This. I know a few people who were on employment for a year and "luckily" were able to "finally" find a job two weeks before benes ran out.... You give people no reason to work, then they won't. they had a year long vacation and we are all the suckers working for a living.

You don't mind the fat rolls on her sides either? :puke:

Yep because large natural breasts always means she's fat.

Cellphones: Quieting the public nuisances

Increasingly, there are rules to limit cellphone use everywhere, and that's a good thing

Anyone who has been forced to endure a stranger's loud and public cellphone conversation in a supermarket line or a restaurant will understand this story:

A woman boarded an Amtrak train in Oakland last Saturday night and proceeded to talk loudly on her cellphone for much of the rest of her 16-hour voyage. Repeated pleas from her fellow passengers — and the conductor — to be quiet fell on, um, deaf ears. Things got so bad that Amtrak officials stopped the train between stations Sunday afternoon in Salem, Ore., and had local police escort her off for being an "unruly passenger." (Usually you have to be a ranting drunk on the train to get that designation.) As a wit on Gawker.com wrote, "She was later charged with unspeakable crimes against humanity and sentenced to life on some distant planet where there are no reception bars, ever."....

I wonder what phone plan she has? Unlimited minutes with no roaming charges. Evidently.

Prob'ly havin' an extremely important conversation with the POTUS....'bout bein' sensitive to the rights of people with whom you do not agree.

After about 16 minutes sittin' next to her, listenin' to her yap flappin'.....they'd have to kick ME off the train. Learn how to use the text feature, lady. If you're bored? Read a book. Silently, to yourself.

Elevators, men's room, waiting room, in line at the grocery store....

Doesn't matter. If you won't keep your personal phone calls private, and choose to discuss your business in my presence? I'm gonna' engage in the conversation.
