I don't see what the big deal is. Growing up in Cleveland I actually like winter. Sure it can be inconvienent at times, but otherwise it's really not that big a deal. Just throw on a pair of longjohns (or three if you're going to a thursday Night Browns game with a temp of 2 degrees).
