My parents have an organic allotment, they use no pesticides, the soil hasn't been treated with them since they took it over 7 years ago. The only things they do to protect crops are put egg shells down so slugs dont get to them and put nets over strawberries etc.

Thats gotta be some shitty soil then, unless they use fertilizer...
