[Contest] Crafting with Cletus

Thanks! It was hard to remember to stop for pics. That's my biggest barrier to posting these.

Is @APRIL inspirable?

What are these guys making? I didn't know so many dudes sewed.

I learned a lot when I was in charge of production for 3 factories with a total of around 800 machinists. Later I used to make complete outfits for my entertainers when I had the agency.

use real words. We dont understand british.

Yes, if they're restored they go for bank.

It depends on the machine. There were a few different bobbin designs over the years and some are more reliable than others.

IMO anything not made in China is worthwhile. Mine was German made back in the 60's, Japanese machines are also very good. I hear horrors about brand new $3000+ machines from China failing nonstop and the manufacturer does nothing to rectify.

I looked up the serial number and this is the one I have http://debrafied.blogspot.com/2012/04/my-singer-sewing-machine-from-1906.html

Missing the hand crank though and the belt on the motor is too loose. Otherwise it seems to be in great working order.

Ludicrous how little vintage sewing machines are worth. All Saints clothing use them as window displays

I never know what's fiction with you.

* hat tip *

I was , when I met tardwife, production manager then IT manager for Warner (Europe) who were one of the largest lingerie manufacturers in the world before they went bust. I helped develop the Warner Gold bra, the first seamless sports bra. We had 2 factories in Northern Ireland, 1 in England and another in Belgium, although I closed the Belgian factory which specialised in corsetry.

This makes job #666 you have done in your lifetime. You must be older than Abraham.
