Compaq DL380 G2 RAID Drive Space Question

I've got the server mentioned in the title and am having an issue that I'm somewhat mystified by.

We added some larger swap drives to this particular unit today but the SmartArray RAID utility is only seeing about 2/3rds of the total physical space that is there.

The drives are all listed with their correct sizes in the utility, but when I go to create a logical drive it only shows a portion of the total space that should be there.

I've tried it as RAID 0,1,5, and 10, all with the same results.

Any thoughts?

What size? I've never seen that, but we don't have any 380 G2s with bigger than 72GB drives.

I replaced two 36.4s and 1 18.2 with 3 72s.

I seem to recall something about needing to expand the array 1st before being able to create a partition, but my memories of those days are fuzzy

that's what I was thinking. Rebuild the array (with new drives installed), then see if you can get the space back.

also, were the drives blank when you got them? no silly hd tools or anything? also, are the same manufacturer and the same type (same cache and what-not)?

I know our Compaq raid (not sure of model) doesn't like that's not the same.
