BCS Conference Rankings (My own opinion): SEC, Big12, Big10, Pac10, ACC

Big10 jumps up after Oregon's dismantling of Cal, and 4 teams to beat emerging from the Big10. Still a huge gap between Big12 and Big10 though. ACC having a horrible OOC showing against mid-major conferences brings them down even further.

I will admit, I'm getting a little lazy on the mid majors so if I pick something regarding them that's out of whack, that's my excuse.

Game of the week

Fuck College GameDay. They decide a team that got demolished against a mid major gets the nod for it? To me it's between two games. Cal vs USC and LSU vs Georgia. Because Cal crapped out last week against Oregon, it's time for some SEC love.

3:30PM ET #4 LSU @ #18 Georgia

Quarterbacks: Jordan Jefferson comes in with a respectable 61% Completion rate, but has an amazing 7:1 TD/INT ratio. Not bad considering they have a fairly balanced offense. Joe Cox also has a 60% completion rate but has a 9:5 TD/INT ratio. Jefferson is more mobile, and has been used in rushing attempts. Cox is purely a pocket passer.

Georgia RBs vs LSU defensive front 7: Georgia has a mediocre rushing attack with Richard Samuel leading the pack. They average about 112 yards per game. Fortunately for them, LSU ranks 9th in the SEC in rushing defense allowing 134 YPG

LSU RBs vs Georgia defensive front 7: Keiland Williams and Charles Scott take the majority of the snaps for LSU. Together, they're averaging just under 5 YPR. The committee will be needed to keep them fresh as Georgia has an amazing line. They're 6th in the SEC at stopping the run but average 20 YPG less than LSU. This will make the need for LSU to have an air game more important.

Georgia's passing game vs LSU's defense: As stated earlier, Cox is slightly INT heavy compared to Jefferson. The line has only allowed 5 sacks as well. The secondary will have to compensate for LSU's lackluster pass rushing ability.

LSU's passing game vs Georgia defense: LSU will have to rely on the short pass and have their playmakers get the extra yardage, as this is a decent group of defensive players on the Bulldogs side. They don't get many sacks or interceptsions, but they tend to contain fairly well.

Outlook: On paper, LSU is the better team. However being at Athens as well as Florida looming in one week and a somewhat struggling Tiger team, I gotta go with the Bulldogs.

USF has beat ranked opponents that last few weeks or so and we can't crack the top 25 at 4-0...

Lame.

You've beaten one ranked opponent who was overrated to begin with and have beaten teams that marching bands could beat. Beat Cincinatti and you'll be ranked.

9/05 Wofford 1-0 (0-0) W 40-7
9/12 @ Western Kentucky 2-0 (0-0) W 35-13
9/19 Charleston Southern 3-0 (0-0) W 59-0
9/26 @ No. 18 Florida State 4-0 (0-0) W 17-7

I remember the good ole days when you said Michigan wouldn't beat MSU. :fly: Although in full disclosure, I said that we wouldn't beat anyone...

Yeah MSU's recent slide has made me rescind my comment about no way in hell Michigan beats MSU. MSU still might pull it off, but they've done nothing to prove it to me recently
