Game of the week

I was torn between this one and the Va Tech Miami game. I picked this one just because of GameDay being there.

8:00PM ET Iowa @ #5 Penn State

Quarterbacks: Daryll Clark. He's Mobile, he can throw, he can run. This guy's an all around athlete and once he gets rolling, it's hard to stop him. Ricki Stanzi is effective. Completing 60% of his passes. But he also has a 5-3 TD/INT ratio. That will be some cause for concern.

Iowa RBs vs PSU defensive front 7: The bad news? No Shonn Greene anymore. The good news? Both Robinson and Wegher are averaging close to 5 yards a carry. After Robinson's performance against Arizona, he'll more than likely get the nod. If Iowa can't get their pass game setup, they will depend heavily on him. PSU's defense is big and powerful. The question mark will be if Sean Lee will be able to play or not. They'll need to apply a lot of push as Iowa's O-Line is big and powerful.

PSU RBs vs Iowa defensive front 7: Evan Royster is PSU's beast this year. He had a field day against Temple. Look for Iowa to stack the box as they're not that great at stopping the run.

Iowa's passing game vs PSU's defense: I expect a conservative short passing game from Iowa. They are going in a hostile environment and will have to depend on clock control to tire out the defense since I don't think they have the speed to beat them with the long ball.

PSU's passing game vs Iowa defense: Iowa's defense is one of the best Penn State will face this year. Their passing defense is ranked 11th nationally and have some amazing CB's. Even more important, they have some depth. This is going to spell some trouble as the passing game isn't exactly a stellar point for PSU. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but haven't shown to be a long threat quite yet (espescially against a better defense)

Outlook: As I said, expect a conservative offense from Iowa. Unfortunately that's going to be their downfall as well. Royster will again carry the team and have an outstanding performance. Penn State will emerge victorious on Saturday,.

 blatant ACC hate.

And no,the ACC conf champion won't be decided by miami/vt. It'll be decided when FSU plays Miami in the final. I won't even bother making a call as to who will win it right now. Way too much of a season left to play.

How exactly is what I posted blatant ACC hate?

BCS Conference Rankings (My own opinion): Big12, SEC, Pac10, Big10, ACC

Seriously. Marking the ACC last?

That's enough to convince me.

it's a generalized hate of southern football. he despises the SEC as well :p

coqui, can you work in the spreads on your analyses? I would like to place some bets on my, I mean your, behalf :fly:

Out of the BCS conferences, which ones have lost to FCS teams? (only the ACC)

ACC also schedules the most FCS games out of all the conferences.

Throughout the weeks, they've also had struggles against no ones. The only ones who have been consistent are Va Tech & Miami

What makes the Big10 better than them? They haven't lost and FCS games, they've scheduled less FCS games, they've scheduled tougher competition and either won or loss very close. They're 2nd to last because they've also had teams struggle against lesser teams.

Your posts here are enough to convince me you're just an ACC homer.

Yes that's why the top 2 conferences are south of the Mason Dixon line ;)

The issues with spreads is that they change day to day until the game.....and I like getting the thread up by Tuesday.
