BCS Conference Rankings (My own opinion): Big12, SEC, Pac10, Big10, ACC

These remain unchanged although the gap between the Big12 and the SEC has narrowed significantly due to some Big 12 struggles this week.

Two incredibly good outings by Washington. USC needs to watch out. (I'd prefer USC win but I'm having this feeling) Wash. St. has to win a game right?

Game of the week

Had Tennessee not laid an egg against UCLA, the Tenn vs UF game would be here.

8:00PM ET Texas Tech @ #2 Texas

Quarterbacks: We all know who Colt McCoy is. Rocket arm, and incredibly accurate. He has 3 full years as a starter underneath his belt. Taylor Potts also has a rocket for an arm. Unfortunately this is his first start at an away game. For all intents and purposes, we're going to have to give the edge over to Texas as Pott's still unproven.

UT RBs vs Tech defensive front 7: In short, McGee and Newton are going to have a field day should Texas decide to rush the ball and keep the offense balanced. Texas Tech has proven they could stop the rush, however, they haven't played anyone of consequence either. Texas is averaging a minimum of 5 ypc.

Tech RBs vs UT defensive front 7: On the same token, Texas hasn't really done much to prove they can stop a good rushing attack. However, it doesn't seem like Tech will utilize Batch or Jeffers much either. I'd have to give the edge to the line simply for the fact that they won't have to defend this much.

UT's passing game vs Tech's defense: Tech has been able to get a lot of defensive pressure in their first 2 games holing teams to under 250 yards total offense and registering 8 sacks already. The secondary is fairly stout and able to handle most standard offenses. However, adding people like Buckner and Williams will make things more difficult as it's not certain they can handle a full spread of receivers. Expect McNeill to employ a bend but don't break defense to counter the talent levels at Texas. What does this mean? The receivers will have to be the playmakers to get major yardage against this defense.

Tech's passing game vs UT's defense: Well if Tech won't run the ball, there's only one thing left to do. They are currently the #1 passing team in the NCAA. Texas has the #54 pass defense in the country. In order to win this side, Texas is going to have to come up big with the front 4. Houston and Kindle will need to both have big games and bring the pressure allowing the corners and safeties to defend against Leong and Lewis.

Outlook: Both teams will score. THere's no doubt about that. However, I think Texas will get one or two defensive stops that will allow them to pull away with the victory. This isn't going to be a pretty win for Texas and is probably going to cause a lot of ire in Texas, but the retribution for Crabtree last year will be there.

I'm still watching Michigan closely. You never know what they might do. :omy:

Man, its going to be another bad week for BadMojo. Although she should be used to it by now. It's Charlie Weiss' fifth year, so the whole team is his. What's the deal? :fly:

Did Ohio State just give up for the year or are they off this week?

Home team conference gets the nod. They're listed under the MAC conference.

OMG I'M SURROUNDED BY WHAT I CAN ONLY ASSUME IS ANOTHER NAME FOR A ROOSTER!!!!

SO WRONG.
Hokie is a fabricated spirit word for the fight chant, kind of like HooRAH or something of that ilk.
We are unofficially known as the "Gobblers" because when our football team first started everyone in the dining halls was stunned by how much food the players could "gobble". So our mascot is a Turkey. A really pissed off Turkey.

Do yourself a favor and don't recite that story to others. :fly:
