Big Fucking Statue: "Hey you! Dregs of your society! Come on over!! We have jobs and beds! We WANT you here. This country is for you and yours! Come and be free and realize your potential!"

Big Fucking Confused Statue: "Fuck, what's with all these goddamn immigrants?"

You can't understand any kind of situation where somebody might be so desperate they would flee to another country quite often in dangerous and appalling conditions because they are scared for their wellbeing or their life? You can't understand the mentality of somebody who is so stricken by life that they may find it hard to function, perhaps not knowing a particular language and not feeling capable of filling in mountains of paperwork and going through years of legal turmoil? Really?

you tho silly. :p

I can understand that, and if someone wants to come here and be a contributing part of our society, I'm all for it. Its the people who come here illegally, don't pay taxes, use our medical system without paying (in other words, I wind up paying for them), don't contribute in a measurable way to our economy, never learn our language yet insist that we learn theirs, segregate themselves in communities in our country and make the rest of us feel unwelcome there, take jobs, send money home to their families and then retire back to their country fat and rich after 10 years. Those people are abusing our good will on purpose.

They could contribute. We even have a program set up where illegal aliens can pay taxes if they choose to do so without threat of repurcussion. They could try to adapt to our way of life. They could try to learn English. They could try being a little friendlier. I'm not saying this is all Mexican immigrants, but in my experience it's the way things are more often than not.

I'm angry about the problem because my healthcare is more expensive and my taxes are more expensive because of people like this. And we aren't just talking about a few cents here. If we were I wouldn't mind. Hard working people should not have to support those that choose not to work hard and those that choose not to contribute to society.

I can understand all that you're saying, but coming from such a 'socialist' country as some would call it I really don't think twice about people I know not working and claiming benefits whilst I'm working and paying taxes and trust me we pay waaaay more in tax than you do in the US. I suppose on balance I think it's better for me to know there is a safety net and I willing to pay my taxes for that. Sure people might be abusing the system, hell people here have kids just so they can get more and more money out of taxpayers here but I feel happy knowing that if I was ever down on my luck and out of work etc. that I would not be left behind.

Also the way you say hard working people should not have to support those who don't contribute, what about people who are physically unable to work? I like that I am paying for people who are too ill or disabled to work to have a good standard of healthcare and life as well as paying for elderly people etc.

I'm fine with helping people who cannot help themselves. The disabled and elderly should be helped. I agree with that idea completely. I also think it's good there is a safety net for people who are down on their luck, as long as they keep trying to contribute. I have no problem with our unemployment program. I have no problem with short term welfare either. I think it should all be short term, until the person gets back on their feet. We offer tons of education assistance, job training, and job placement assistance.

People here have kids just to get more money too. Lots of them. I see these same people having perfect hair and nails and clothes and then complain that they can't afford formula and diapers for their kids. It makes me sick. That system needs to change too. They should be spayed or neutered like animals if they want to act that way.

Leave the sick behind, the survival of the tribe is tantamount. Sure, i'd be dead too, but I'd come back as an eagle and be able to fuck in free-fall, so it balances out.

*attempts to drag thread back on topic*

There's a flaw with the premise here.

The video is supposed to be someone destroying a running car in order to get money from the cash for clunkers program. That makes no sense. What is preventing them from trading in a running car? I call bullshit on the whole thing.

Espescially since they could probably get more than 4500 trading in the car in the video.
