Cash for Clunkers confuses me. If it's an economic boost we're looking for (I'm assuming all of this is to motivate people to buy new cars from struggling auto makers), why not give those older and in some cases perfectly functional cars to people who need them? So they can drive. And get jobs. And buy shit.

I feel like we're well on our way to the world of Idiocracy.
