you completely ignored what I said. either you believe in the mythology or you're not really subscribing to the religion. the only reason I even bring this up is because you have gone on record here as flagrantly ridiculing people who believe in various christian mythologies. you can't have it both ways; either fairy tales and imaginary friends are for kids or you believe in the punabbhava and thus believe in something with as much scientific validity as moses parting the red sea. if it's the latter then yeah, you can call yourself a buddhist, albeit a hypocritical one. if, however, you reject the supernatural hoopla that comes packaged with the religion then you are merely posing as a buddhist, which in my opinion is all the better because that would establish you as a logical human being. simply accepting the notion of demons and demigods, of rebirth and karma is no different than accepting the notion of talking snakes and virgin births. bottom line: if you're really a buddhist, stop talking smack about the supernatural beliefs of others
