What makes Bourbon. If you can't tell the difference between fresh char and recycled, I'm sorry.

You have to use a new white oak barrel, char it, then age the bourbon in it. Those barrels are then sold to other companies for aging whiskey, scotch, etc. and used several times over but in order to be bourbon, it must start with a brand new white oak barrel.
