Ontopic Best concert you've been to?

Best Concert hands down = Beastie Boys @ Molson Park ONTARIO... craziest mosh pit EVER! I almost died... but a fucking amazing time.

I also had front row @ Metallica and caught a drum stick and that was a fucking amazing show...

Really? When was this? I've seen Slayer a few times and found their shows to be a little lackluster.
2004, they were like 3 hours late, the crowd went beserk. Nemo passed out against the barrier.

Metallica headlined that day, but THEY were also late and Urlich was sick or something so they had Jordinson from Slipknot and the drummer from Slayer play drums for their set.

The closest I've ever been to a concert was when I was suppose to go see Watch the Throne with Jay - Z and Kanye West.

But I lost the tickets. Poor me.:(:(:(

there was like one point where one of the guitarists put down his guitar and started pounding on a second set of drums and it was like cum-splosion

but mindless self indulgence with the birthday massacre was crazy fun.
You saw mindless self indulgence without me.

Remember when we saw the Used?

msi is having a tour in like a month... but not coming to florida. birthday masssacare was rather cool.... especially for being a canadian goth electro-pop group :fly:

yes, the used was a good one. introduced me to head automatica since they were opening. saw them for a third time a few years back. might have to change my favorite concert to the first time i saw brand new. thrice was opening so it was all kinds of sexy to my ears

1. I did not pass out. I ended up being herded back stage and being sick.
2. You were there? I really don't remember you being there. I thought I was on my own at download.

I've no idea of the best concert really, I've seen some great big bands but there's also been some unknown bands/small bands that were great.

Dinosaur Jr, The Pixies and SOAD were great live as far as big concerts go. Legendary Shack Shakers (is that the one?) were the best band I've seen live performance wise, I think their singer is on crack so that may have something to do with it.

I've only ever watched small(ish) punk bands in the past x number of years though and there's few stand outs.

Wow, I'm surprised about Metallica. I remember them filling in and playing more when Axl Rose had a meltdown and didn't want to come out on stage when they played together. I got to see more boobs in that one night then I've probably seen in all the rest of my life put together.

I guess perhaps Slayer has gotten better. Turns out the last time I saw them was like 1991. They played with Megadeth, Anthrax and Alice in Chains and I had front row/back stage passes, but I never got to meet the guys from Slayer because they wouldn't come out of their dressing room and wouldn't let anyone in. Their reason was that their fans are a bunch of lunatics.

Metallica were great when I saw them in 02 or something like that at Leeds. They played for like 3 hours, although I didn't see it all because I drunk and sick I think, I don't recall. When they played without Ulrich it just showed even more how shit a drummer that stupid little dwarf (no offense Kyle) is.

Despite my enjoying Metallica in the past, the last time I saw them was in 98 and I will never see them again unless forced. IMO they've become greedy and overindulgent. Their attitude during the whole Napster thing was deplorable. I can't stand their music anymore. I don't think they've done anything good since the black album and I've really really tried to like their newer stuff. Plus, the last time I saw them they did an acoustic set and it was crap. Metallica is not a band that does music that translates well to acoustic. Especially not classics like The Four Horsemen. It's as bad as when they decided to play with that orchestra. Overindulgent and not very interesting. I'm glad you have enjoyed them though.

I'm a huge Metallica fan. HUGE. My all time fave band hands down!. I have seen them live 11 times in Canada and the US.
I think Lars is an arrogant fuck and yadda yadda yadda @ the whole napster/orchestra and when Jason Newsted left, that was the beginning of the end... However their 1st four albums (kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets and and justice for all) are fucking insanely amazing. Pure awesomeness..
So altho ya now they are meh.. Their classic shit is still there and still blaring in my iPod earbuds like its nobodys business.

I will never stop listening to them simply cuz their newer shit isn't up to par with their classic shit.

God bless metallica!

Rev Horton Heat at the house of blues was pretty awesome
Also saw Metallica back in the "and justice for all" days at a small club in London called...the marquee? I think? Anyways, they were billed as "Vertigo" , we were there to see Metal Church.
Lights come up and BAM theres metallica on stage in this tiny club. I think they played a full set.
It was pretty awesome.

I saw Horton Heat here, it was a pretty awesome show.

My favourite was a punk band called Propagandhi.

Also, Gwar was awesomely entertaining.
