WTF Bad boys, Bad boys, whatcha gonna do

i find it funny that good cop stories never get reported on
tell that to all the gross shit that circulates about "hot" Gainesville cops (btw turns out one of them posted some heinously antisemitic shit but it's fine! bc hot!), or the ridiculous shit about cops being scared about It/Pennywise, or cutesy "I pulled this black person over to scare the shit out of them but then I gave them ice cream instead ! ha! ha!" tonedeaf bullshit.

you don't get cookies, or praise, for doing your job, or for not currently being in the act of killing innocent people.

you know what you get for doing your job? paid. wage slavery is another argument for another time, but you can eat the contents of my entire colon if you think we should be spending more time on people doing what is expected of them, *instead of* focusing on how maybe to stop them from executing people.

Wicks mentions MSM a lot.
Is that MSN and he's just being "edgy" by messing with the spelling on purpose?

im not talking about news stories of just cops being cops. I am talking about when they go out of their way to give poor kids christmas presents or give homeless people clothes and shoes. MSM would rather post a story trying to make cops look bad instead
lots of people do those things, and without the expectation of praise. also plenty of people that try to help the homeless, like Food Not Bombs, ruin into terrible with the cops who prevent them from giving them food.

also are you suggesting that giving someone a pair of socks completely counterbalances the executions?

there are bad cops and their actions are reprehensible and will never be excusable.

Because that isn't a cop's job. That's a person who happens to be a cop doing a good deed.

That isn't their job

some bad cops sure. this is where the left gets hypocritical. left - how dare you judge all muslims based off the actions of a small minority. also the left - fuck the police, fry pigs fry, blue lives don't matter.
Cops choose to be police officers. Generally you don't choose a religion, you're raised in it.

Also, yeah. Fuck the police

choosing to be a cop is not the same as having religious beliefs that happen to be shared in part by other people who do terrible things in its name. believing in Islam isn't a choice, any more than believing in God or a god or gods or none. becoming a cop is absoluely a choice.

choosing to become a cop is choosing to take part in an institution that has shown itself to be violently racist, and an institution whose key goal is to uphold that system and to protect the state and its capitalist goals, not the people who truly need it. and joining bc you think you can "change" that from the inside would be like a vegan signing up to work at a slaughterhouse. you're either going to have to compromise your ethics or you're going to get canned or quit, because that isn't the way you make a change to an entire institution.

are all cops, as human beings, terrible people? no. but they've willingly signed up to do terrible things in the name of the state, and for every particularly terrible, outwardly racist cop, there's 100 who let shit slide, which makes them culpable. and the ones who don't let it slide don't keep their jobs long.

for every Jason Stockley, vowing to he's going to "kill that [n word]," doing just that, planting evidence, and getting acquitted, there's 100 more that back that behavior up by continuing to willingly take part in that system.

and for every Anthony Lamar Smith, or Walter Scott, or Baltimore PD situation where cops are literally caught on tape murdering people and/or planting evidence, there's 100 that aren't caught on tape, and the ones who are STILL don't get convictions (or, as in the Walter Scott case, the cop took a plea deal to a way more minor charge).

Very well put and great job of pointing out the fallacy that is the "few bad apples" excuse.

religion is a choice. Nobody is forced to be religious. It is bs to claim that cops are racist. I have never heard any cop claim they became a cop just so the could target and kill black people.

Here are the facts about these big bad racist cops. This year they killed 1.5 times as many white people.
http://killedbypolice.net/

a cop signs up to do good and help people not to destroy lives. There are some bad ones yes but they are a very small minority of the 750+thousand cops.

What about the "good majority" that stands there and does nothing, or looks the other way, or even actively works to cover up or diminish the actions of the "few bad apples"?

i doubt that most cops just sit around go "oh that crazy steve shot another black guy. lets help cover it up"

You ever had altercations with cops? How often was it a lone cop the entire time? Most altercations involve 2 minimum and oftentimes more. Even if it's a simple traffic ticket "backup" is never more than a minute or 2 away in any medium or larger city. If shit's going down, there's always multiple cops, and yes, the rest let the "bad apples" do what they do. The only reason you hear about any of these things is because some video ended up on the internet, sometimes weeks or months after the event actually happened. That's because the cops (all of them) covered it up until they couldn't anymore.
