....How do I wire to a switch, to a light, and back to an outlet without turning off the outlet when I flip the switch off?

wouldn't you just pull off of the line you are running to the outlet to run to the switch, kinda like a T.

source---|---outlet

Hire a professional to do it.

If I was going to do that, I wouldn't be asking this question, now would I?

I've only shocked myself two, maybe three times before doing this kind of work. It isn't that hard until you turn the electricity back on.

I am going from the source, to an outlet, to the switch, to the light, up a floor, to another outlet, to a switch, to another light.

I prefer the heinylick maneuver myself

I hate to admit this, but the joke about the heinylick maneuver was one of the first things that came to my mind when you mentioned choking
