ATT buys BellSouth

I expected it when SBC purchased ATT and started talking about bringing back ATT wireless. I knew there was no way in hell Bellsouth would give up their piece. I just figured it would be a year from now.
Even then, I really wonder how its going to pass without them either having to spin Cingular off to be completely separate, or giving up some land line teritory. Frankly if that means Atlanta becomes Verizon teritory and they bring FIOS to my door then this merger would be the best thing ever. I always had mad respect for BS except when they pulled the "fiber to the curb is as good as fiber to your house" card and started the entire "google should pay for better performance" idea. I always knew they were cheap, bu that was almost greedy sounding.
