[Article] Article: howto - sharpening a lawn mower blade

FANKS FOR THIS, ASAA!!

What do people suggest for 'winterizing' a ride on. $1800 investment that we should probably think about doing this to. or no? It's kept on the garage, so nothing will freeze on it. maybe. Tips, preez?

Winterizing what? A lawn mower?
If so, I would just change the oil, maybe fog the cylinders, and then disconnect the battery
You could put it up on jack stands or some sort of blocks so that the tires don't sit in one position and get a flat spot over the winter.

Give it a good bath first, make sure there's no clumps of mud under the engine compartment, no clumps of grass under the deck, nothing that is going to allow it to promote rust.

Either drain the gas completely, or fill it up completely and add a fuel stabilizer. And that should be it

Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, and fill it up with fresh gas - find your fuel tank capacity in your owners manual and add the right amount of stabilizer for that volume. Then take it for a spin so you use up the unstabilized gas in the carb.

If it hasn't been done in a while, I'd change the oil, spark plug and air filter too.

Actually, hook up a trickle charger to the battery after you disconnect it. Wal-Mart has a 1.5 amp charger for $20 right now, find something that will automatically stop charging and go into a maintenance mode. You dont want anything bigger than 1.5 amps for it, over winter a .5 amp should work fine so long as you leave it plugged in.
