Hawt Anyone played with 123D Catch?

Might not want to get a 3D printer, then. I've heard that Sketchup is one of the easier versions to use.

Oh I know. I would be totally useless with it. But the tech is super neat.

Arduino is now selling the kits for you to build your own 3D printer. $800.

The cool part being by building it yourself, you might learn some ways to mod or upgrade it

I've never messed with Sketchup, honestly. It looks like it supports dxf and 3ds files though, both of which Solidworks uses.

I think dxfs are only 2D though. Not a big deal though.

Sketchup is annoying compared to solidworks/inventor

Has a whole context based measuring system that makes me want to punch it

Sketch up was pretty cool to mess with. We used it to build our son's play set.

We have access to 3D printers at work. It's cool to have someone say "printing off your ring now"
