Anyone else into Poker?

I'd never played poker before this year--my sophomore year of college. And now I'm into it.

The guys in the dorms introduced me; and I've been playing just about every night. A few of them go to the casinos; where I fear to play. But the home games are fun, and I think if I could discipline myself and stop playing bad draws I could be good.

Anyone else a poker player? Advice? Poker talk?

I play holdem at a few different bars every wednesday for prizes...0 entry and if you win out of ~80 people you get trips to casinos generally
they also give away lesser shit too
can't go tonight though

That's pretty cool...I like the idea of a free tourny. :D

I play at holdem with friends at least once a week -- it's my method of funding. :X

I know the basics, I know how the game is played. I will play with friends if they ask. I don't gamble. Most of my friends will not play any card game whatsoever with me...:( let alone poker. I do adore card games.

Anyone up for a game of pinnocle?

pinochle?

yes, i spelled pinochle wrong

it is a game played similar to spades but a bit more complex. it is almost like two games rolled into one. the first portion, wagers are made around the board until someone cedes. the winner declares trump for that round. at this juncture, after someone has won the bidding, players add up points they have in their hand. points are assessed based on card combinations, i am not going to list them. then the second part of the game is played. this portion is almost identical to spades.

oh hell, lemme just find a site to explain
